World Forum The Hague: Hosting the World!

World Forum is a full service international convention center located in The Hague between the beach and city center and is only a 30 minutes’ drive away from two international airports. We have the largest auditorium, the King Willem Alexander, in The Netherlands (different capacities possible), 35 breakout rooms and exclusive use is possible! It’s a compact venue, but still offers 12.000 m2 exhibition space, including our Queen Máxima expo, and a total of 17.500 rentable m2. With a brand new look and feel after the finalized investment of almost 28 million Euro (finished in 2016) World Forum is ready to host your event in The Hague!

World Forum Flow

All meeting rooms are situated around the central heart of the building: the Atrium. It connects all areas and gives World Forum the perfect flow! There are meeting rooms available for all types of evenst. On the ground floor, the brand Expo Foyer provides a powerful networking area with an open and bright ambiance. The King Willem Alexander Theater really adds the wow-factor to the meeting as it has a 20m high ceiling and beautiful large stage. For all break out rooms you will find multiple rooms in different sizes. We also love excellent catering and our atmospheric Atlantic room will be the perfect home for a seated dinner up to 1,200 guests.

World Forum celebrates 50

World Forum officially opened in 1969 as the Nederlands Congresgebouw. The opening was attended by dignitaries including His Royal Highness Prince Bernhard of The Netherlands. Jacobus Johannes Pieter Oud designed the building in the style of Dutch functionalism which was very modern in the 1960s.

The Nederlands Congresgebouw became extremely well-known internationally due to North Sea Jazz Festival that returned annually from 1976 to 2005. Artists such as Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Lionel Hampton and Candy Dulfer performed at the venue. Other leading world figures including Neil Armstrong, Kofi Annan, Bill Gates, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama also spoke at large top-level international conferences held at World Forum.

Since 2009, World Forum The Hague is managed by GL events, a French company. The company was founded more than 30 years ago and has built up a formidable reputation on the international conference circuit in both organizing large-scale events and managing exhibition and conference venues. GL events manages 43 convention centers worldwide, including in cities such as Barcelona, Nice, Brussels, Paris, Rio de Janeiro and Shanghai.

The Municipality of The Hague

The Municipality of The Hague became the owner of the World Forum building once again in July 2013. Since then, major investments have been made in a number of areas including technical systems and a new exhibition space. World Forum is always ready for the future and is focusing on attracting large international conferences together with the Municipality of The Hague. www.denhaag.nl
